\"2012<\/a>Au coeur des C\u00e9vennes, de nombreux gisements d\u2019argent ont \u00e9t\u00e9 exploit\u00e9s entre les XIe et XIVe si\u00e8cles par les puissances f\u00e9odales de la r\u00e9gion, \u00e0 la crois\u00e9e des dioc\u00e8ses m\u00e9di\u00e9vaux du Vivarais, du G\u00e9vaudan et de l\u2019Uz\u00e8ge. Sources de richesses et de puissance politique, les mines d\u2019argent ont aussi fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 un territoire homog\u00e8ne, pr\u00e9serv\u00e9 et fortement anthropis\u00e9, m\u00ealant les puits extractifs et ateliers de transformation du minerai \u00e0 un encadrement castral et religieux omnipr\u00e9sent.<\/p>\n

Depuis 2001, une \u00e9quipe du CNRS \u00e9tudie l\u2019ensemble des caract\u00e9ristiques de ce territoire par le biais de prospections terrestres et souterraines, de relev\u00e9s topographiques, de fouilles et de recherches en archives. Les op\u00e9rations se focalisent plus particuli\u00e8rement sur une colline qui semble enti\u00e8rement lotie, avec une quinzaine de structures dat\u00e9es des XIe – XIIe si\u00e8cles concentr\u00e9es sur une surface de plus de 3000 m2. Apr\u00e8s des sondages r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en 2010 et 2011, la campagne arch\u00e9ologique 2012 sera consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019ouverture d\u2019une large fen\u00eatre sur ce probable quartier industriel li\u00e9 au traitement du minerai, et situ\u00e9 \u00e0 quelques m\u00e8tres en contrebas des chantiers d\u2019extraction.<\/p>\n
