Ainsi, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois de Mont\u00e9gut rapporte l\u2019existence dans la commune d\u2019importants vestiges romains, dont au moins une partie correspond \u00e0 des bains. Par la suite, une premi\u00e8re campagne de fouilles conduite dans les ann\u00e9es 1960 r\u00e9v\u00e9la la pr\u00e9sence d&rsquo;un b\u00e2timent antique de la p\u00e9riode august\u00e9enne et d&rsquo;un mobilier pr\u00e9sentant quelques \u00e9l\u00e9ments protohistoriques.
