 {"id":109,"date":"2020-01-21T11:38:52","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T10:38:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.univ-tlse2.fr\/irp-danube\/?p=109"},"modified":"2020-01-21T11:40:37","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T10:40:37","slug":"welcome-to-the-irp-blog-geoarchaeology-and-geohistory-of-the-danube-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.univ-tlse2.fr\/irp-danube\/2020\/01\/21\/welcome-to-the-irp-blog-geoarchaeology-and-geohistory-of-the-danube-delta\/","title":{"rendered":"WELCOME TO THE IRP BLOG \u00ab\u00a0GEOARCHAEOLOGY AND GEOHISTORY OF THE DANUBE DELTA\u00a0\u00bb!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear readers, we are pleased to announce the creation of a brand new international and collaborative research project between France and Romania, entitled \u00ab\u00a0Geoarchaeology and Geohistory of the Danube Delta\u00a0\u00bb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.univ-tlse2.fr\/irp-danube\/files\/2020\/01\/logo-IRP-anglais-300x271.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.univ-tlse2.fr\/irp-danube\/files\/2020\/01\/logo-IRP-anglais-300x271.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.univ-tlse2.fr\/irp-danube\/files\/2020\/01\/logo-IRP-anglais.jpg 472w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This project consolidates long-established collaborations between these two countries within the framework of 1- the \u00ab\u00a0SEEG Danube\u00a0\u00bb Global Ecology Study Site of the CNRS Institute of Environmental Ecology and 2- the \u00ab\u00a0Archaeology of the Danube Delta\u00a0\u00bb Mission led by Laurent Carozza (CNRS UMR 5602 GEODE, Toulouse) and Cristian Micu (ICEM, Tulcea). Its aim is to enable the organisation of working meetings or seminars, the development of joint research activities including field research, and the supervision of students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IRP brings together archaeologists, geomorphologists, bio-archaeologists and geographers in the same team, with the aim of creating an international interdisciplinary research and research training centre on geo-archaeological issues in the Lower Danube area. The IRP is structured around six French and Romanian research centres. It is supported by the GEODE UMR 5602 CNRS-Universit\u00e9 Toulouse Jean-Jaur\u00e8s laboratory (France) and the \u00ab\u00a0Alexandru Ioan Cuza\u00a0\u00bb University of Iasi, Faculty of Biology, (Bioarchaeology Research Group) for Romania. The teams of UMR 7266 LIENSs (CNRS-University of La Rochelle), the Institute of Archaeology \u00ab\u00a0Vasile Parvan\u00a0\u00bb of the Romanian Academy, the Eco-Museum Research Institute (ICEM) \u00ab\u00a0Gavrila Simion\u00a0\u00bb of Tulcea and the University of Bucharest (the Department of Ancient History, Archaeology and History of Art of the Faculty of History and the platform \u00ab\u00a0ArchaeoSciences#RO\u00a0\u00bb) participate in this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This scientific blog will allow us to communicate and dialogue with you, in real time, on our research activities and news related to our work.
