SPECIAL STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
UT2J supports all students throughout their course by means of specific services and key individuals to contact in response to the particular needs of each student.
Foreign students
UT2J welcomes many foreign students every year. Whether they come to study on their own or as part of an exchange programme, the university does its utmost to support them throughout their studies. Depending on the situation, two services are available: the International Students Department, if they are enrolling as individuals, and the International Relations Department, for exchange students.

How do you go about getting your disability recognized?
You need to contact the Student Health Service (formerly SIMPPS) to make an appointment with a doctor. During this appointment, you will be asked for your medical file.
This appointment with the SSE doctor should be made as early as possible in the academic year, so that accommodations can be taken into account as of the first continuous assessment evaluations. A calendar sets out the deadlines for this appointment:
- No later than November 14, 2025, for developments to begin in the 1st half of the year;
- By March 13, 2026, for accommodations to begin in the 2nd semester;
- May 13, 2026, at the latest, for accommodations to begin for Second Chance SED.
Recommendations will be drawn up by the HSE doctor and then translated into a decree, the official document formalizing the accommodations for assessments. Accommodations are valid for the academic year or for the entire training cycle, depending on the disability.
What are the possible layouts?
The improvements may concern:
- Studies: human aids, technical aids such as adaptation of documents, adaptation of the curriculum over two years…
- Examinations: extra time, special study arrangements, computer composition, etc.
- Student life: queuing card, rest rooms, etc.

Elite sports students
Students wishing to reconcile their practice of high-level sport with the pursuit of higher education can subscribe to a dedicated status. This is a contract between the university and the student allowing access to certain conditions in response to absences justified by competitions or official training courses: curriculum adjustments (ESBNN /ESHN)
free distance learning (via the distance learning service)
remedial courses and exam postponements (ESBNN /ESHN)
These arrangements are put in place with the help of an academic tutor specific to each course of study, and make it easier for students with a good level of academic (ESBNR), national (ESBNN) or international (ESHN) sporting achievement to pursue their studies at university.
To benefit from this contract, students must submit an application to the university sports and physical activity department (Suaps in french) and indicate this when finalizing their registration (see Enrollment, switching courses). Although automatically validated, if the student is registered on the ministerial lists, the status is granted only after the application has been studied by a commission.
